Bad news – I’m terrible at making poached eggs in a pan of water. Good news – I like egg drop soup. If you’ve ever struggled with the old fashioned method of poaching eggs, these handy gizmos might save your breakfast.
I tried all the tips before I found these new-fangled gadgets. Salt the water. Vinegar the water. Swirl the water into a vortex. Play with the temperatures a million ways. Bottom line is I’m just horrible at keeping the eggs in place without losing most of it to the ‘soup’. Enter these new-ish cups made of silicone, a material which has become all the rage in small kitchen wares. For just a couple bucks each, I’d say they work brilliantly. Just remember to cover the pan because holding in the steam means they cook more evenly.
