Green and not so green parts of the farm over the seasons. You can see our garden year starts late here in Canada but it also lasts well into the elderly months on the calendar. Photos from 2014. (click any to wide-o-rama and start slide show)
Gallery: Local Sights
A few pictorial snippets from the north shores of Nova Scotia within around fifty kilometres of the farm. Mostly from 2014 (click any to swellify and start slide show)
Gallery: Bee Food
The wildflower meadows here haven’t been touched in two decades. I plan to leave plenty in pristine condition just to feed the bees. Every week seems to have a different version of flower in bloom. Taken over the course of 2014. (click any to uppity size and start slide show)
Gallery: Apples Galore
Farmers of past generations planted quite a few apple trees around the property. I stopped counting at forty. They need serious pruning but can be rehabilitated into the start of a proper orchard I’m sure. (click any to embiggen and start slide show)
Gallery: Driveway Beginnings
The first step to building on the farm was getting a driveway approved and installed. These shots are from the whirlwind day with the big machines, start to finish in about six hours. Many thanks Ashley, Richard, & crew for a great job. September 2013 (click any to super size and start slide show)
Gallery: First Days on the Farm
